Course Summary:
The course includes theory and hands-on sessions. Full sets of equipment and diamond samples flown in from Belgium will be used throughout the course. Participants will become Certified Diamond Graders upon passing the examination at the end of the 2 weeks course.

Course Outline:
Module 1 - General introduction to the properties of 4C of diamonds
Module 2 - Principles of diamond optics
Module 3 - Principles of weighing, calculation and rounding of carat weight
Module 4 - Determination of the colour of diamonds
Module 5 - Clarity grading of diamonds
Module 6 - Grading cut: description and evaluation of proportions and finish (symmetry deviations)
Module 7 - Differentiating diamonds and its imitations (simulants).
Module 8 - Examination of fancy cut diamonds
